I am a qualified Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, with a Masters degree and 12 years’ professional experience. I am originally from the USA, and was employed full time for 4 years as a Speech Therapist for the District of Richardson (part of Dallas, Texas, population 100,000), where I was the Stammering Specialist, and where my role included the supervision of graduate students in a summer Stammering Camp. For the last 8 years I have led the Speech Therapy Learning Disability Service for the NHS, first in the London Borough of Hillingdon and then Hammersmith & Fulham. At present, I am now employed as a Highly Specialist Speech Therapist, covering a local primary and secondary schools in Clapham, South West London.



I have extensive experience in providing bespoke speech therapy to the following types of clients:

  • Adults and children who stammer or stutter, speech, and voice disorders
  • I am PROMPT trained level II
  • School-age pupils with receptive and expressive language disabilities, social communication difficulties, decreased attention and listening skills, and those who might at times exhibit challenging behaviour Adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X syndrome and those who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilties (PMLD)
  • I have particular experience in providing speech therapy services to clients with swallowing disorders (dysphagia), together with complex communication disorders
  • I have regularly provided individualised training for those who care for individuals with special needs – parents, registered carers, schools and other healthcare professionals
  • I am qualified as a ‘Talking Mats’ trainer, a wonderful communication method enabling people to express how they feel
  • I am also qualified as an ‘Elklan’ trainer, another valuable communication method
  • I have designed and run my own individual communication and dysphagia courses, which can be adapted to the specific needs of a client
